Area 2:  Fine Arts

THEA 110 added

Theater Aesthetics (primarily for students with prior theater experience)

Area 5:  International and Intercultural Studies

CHNS 101, 102, 201, 202 added

All Mandarin courses count towards the Gen. Ed. Area 5 requirement, and 12 hours (3 courses) complete the B.A. foreign language requirement.  However, CHNS 101 and 102 are offered by invitation only in the Kirk’s Scholars Program.

 Area 6: Mathematical Sciences

ITEC 109

Recommended for students interested in exploring information technology

MATH 103 no longer offered

 

MATH 104

This is a demanding course recommended for students who need a strong algebra background for calculus.

MATH 109 no longer offered 

 

MATH 111 and 112  (Math and Human Development I and II) added

Recommended for future primary teachers.  MATH 111 will be considered as a “repeat” for students who were unsuccessful in MATH 103, and MATH 112 will be considered as a “repeat” for students who were unsuccessful in MATH 109. Students outside the College of Education and Human Development who wish to take these courses as repeats should contact their  advising coordinator in their college advising center

MATH 114 (Math and Human Society) added

Recommended for students majoring in the social sciences

MATH 116 (Math and Humanity) added

Recommended for students majoring in humanities or visual and performing arts

GEOL 100 (Earth Resources and Natural Hazards) added

Replaces GEOL 103 (Environmental Geology)
